Here's a photo on the set from one of Alexei's upcoming military films. I guess the guy photographed with him is playing a corpse - unless he always
walks around with a bullet hole in his head, LOL...

Okay, it's the second video down on this page.
This is an excerpt from one of the new year shows on Channel One and it's a hilarious parody of various Russian stars - I'm sure you can spot the ones you know, LOL. Glimpse of Alexei in the audience at about the 4:56 mark - be patient; the best part is the last act with "Gina" Bilan. http://www.1tv.ru/static/pr=5351&pi=5874 Laurie |

Okay, these aren't technically "new" Alexei photos, LOL, but I didn't know what other thread to put these in, and I didn't want to start
a new thread for what is in essence one post, LOL. Besides, we have a video thread for old videos so why not old photos, too.
Anyway, someone was asking me about the old board banners and if I still had the links. I don't have the one from 1999 (when I started the board) due to the web host no longer being around, but here are most of the ones from 2000 to the present. I usually changed banners once a year around board anniversary time, but sometimes I couldn't help myself and did it earlier, patience not being my strong suit... So here they are, board banners from 2000 through 2009, although you may get a surprise later this year, too... I put both these banners up sort of at once - the first one for the home page and forums, and then the second one only for the forum pages a little later. They were both designed by Jenny, and the photos were provided by Michael Bernadsky and Eda Tseinyev.
This banner was designed by Laura and the photos were provided by Amy Salamey, Michael, Eda, Birgit Locke, Kim Lockwood, and me.
This banner was designed by Laura and the photos provided by Kim Lockwood and Ina Carlos.
The Olympic victory banner was designed by Laura and the photos provided by Kim.
This banner was designed by Minami and the photo provided by me.
I finally got adventurous and tried a banner all by myself - eek! - photo provided by me.
Another banner I did myself, photos provided by Mary Lally and me.
Banner design by Mary, and photos provided by Mary.
Banner by Mary, and photo provided by Mary.
Another banner by Mary, and photos provided by Mary.
And, of course, the other, more tangible board banner. Designed and made by Julie, with input from the board, and traipsed around the world by various board members, depending on who was attending which comp or show. Probably its brightest moment in the sun was to be forever immortalized on video at Alexei's Olympic victory in Salt Lake City. Always gives me a smile to see it, and to remember all the adventures associated with our trips.
And while I was traipsing through my websites looking for old board banners, I ran across these Alexei photos, too - always a pleasure to revisit and remember: Kindly provided to us by N. I do notice, seeing the banners all at once, that I seem to have a keen appreciation of Alexei's arms...

Alexei mention here:
http://www.ifsmagazine.co.../index.php?showtopic=1731 >> Meité said she admires Mao Asada, Florent Amodio, Brian Joubert and Alban Préaubert. "And last but not least, Alexei Yagudin, as he had the whole package," she said. >> Have to agree! Laurie |

Alexei mentions here in an interview with Sergei Voronov after the short programs at Europeans:
http://sport.gazeta.ru/sport/2009/01/a_2927977.shtml >> "Far to go to reach Yagudin" - Already repeatedly you and your coach Aleksey Urmanov said that at the competitions you succeed at what is not obtained during training. Maybe, the latter it generally would be worthwhile to abolish? - To entirely abolish, perhaps, would not work. To nevertheless work out elements necessarily. Yes, even I am not one such. For Aleksey Yagudin during training he also obtained worse than at competitions. This did not prevent him from becoming Olympic champion. If the great figure skater Yagudin knew how to collect himself at competitions, then why can I not follow his example? Although for me, of course, I have far to go to reach Yagudin. >> I gotta say, it's nice to see a little humility and respect from a young skater instead of those who compare their own abilities to Alexei's and minimize his... ...and I don't know the time frame on this news, but according to this article (with photo) dated today, Alexei has taken off to Cancun for a little R
& R. Given that the Ice Age skaters are on tour right this minute, I guess we'll see if Alexei is in tomorrow's show in Chelyabinsk. Then the next
day there is a show in Magnitogorsk, then Ekaterinburg on the 25th, and then Omsk on the 27th. They don't really say when he left, though. I'm not sure
what the advertisements are on the other shows, but Averbukh definitely promised Alexei to fans in Omsk.
http://kp.ru/daily/24231.3/431047/ >> Yagudin rests from the ice in Mexico For the figure skater it was very busy lately - tapings of "Ice Age," the series "Hot Ice," and new-year shows. In order to rest from the work and the changeable Moscow weather, Aleksey Yagudin left for Mexico. In the company of friends he flew away to one of the most popular and most prestigious Mexican health resorts - city of Cancun on the Yucatan peninsula. >> Laurie |

By the way, you can vote once per hour on the poll Show Ching listed above. Just select the photo of the skater you want to vote for, and click on the little
circle at the bottom of the pic - it should turn red, then click on it and your vote should register.
And I'm guessing the trip to Mexico already happened because Alexei skated today in the show in Chelyabinsk - to Bumbarash and Moon Over Bourbon St. Laurie |

That's okay - they get a good reality check when they figure out for themselves it's not so easy to try and achieve his record.
Here's a nice Alexei mention from an interview with Ilya Averbukh: http://www.championat.ru/other/article-29547.html >> - During the tour around the country, Alexey Yagudin and Roman Kostomarov organize master classes for young figure skaters. How do such activities help develop young talent? - You know, to teach them to skate in 30 minutes will not be able one great coach. But to give an impetus to the development of young athletes, meeting the stars can. I can tell you a story based on the example of the same Lesha Yagudin. He associates with the teenagers, and their eyes see an athlete who became an idol of the nation. He is their champion, a star. Contact with him is able to light up any of the young athletes. And it is now most important. >> And here are some newer photos from the Photo Express site (reminds self to check the site more often, LOL) : http://www.photoxpress.ru..._info.asp?news_id=2052760 http://www.photoxpress.ru..._info.asp?news_id=2052758 http://www.photoxpress.ru..._info.asp?news_id=2052832 http://www.photoxpress.ru..._info.asp?news_id=2052830 http://www.photoxpress.ru..._info.asp?news_id=2094527 http://www.photoxpress.ru..._info.asp?news_id=2122180 http://www.photoxpress.ru..._info.asp?news_id=2122182 http://www.photoxpress.ru..._info.asp?news_id=2122181 http://www.photoxpress.ru..._info.asp?news_id=2122183 Laurie |

Nice to hear from you, Linda!
I still have my fan photo album, and every once in a blue moon I peruse through it. I had some really fun times, and I'm glad that not only do I have the memories, I have concrete reminders of the many wonderful people I met on my trips. It was always nice to be able to put a face to a name. Laurie |

Short but sweet video of Alexei addressing an audience on the 2014 Olympics in Sochi:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2SrMVeqLUM Translation from the uploader, dianaIceGladiator: >> I think this is a great honour for our country take over the Olympics. But on the other side it is exciting and a great responsibility, because this is not a small event of this very bright and very, very sporting event in the world of man. >> Laurie |
