Isn't that fun?!! I found that site about a week ago, and have been turning friends and family into elves ever since. It makes me laugh every time.

We have an office mascot at work - a stray cat that had been shot with a BB gun or something and was blind in one eye. So we took her in and everyone loves her - she's such a good kittie. So when I sent my elf to one of my office mates, she replied with our kittie elf...

The kittie elf is a very good dancer. It was very kind of your office to adopt her.

She's a total sweetie - the best office cat you can imagine. Way better behaved than my two little troublemakers at home, LOL...
Okay, I can't resist. When I was a sweet, young thing, Led Zeppelin was my all time favorite band - I saw them live six times and will remember those performances forever. And they just had a reunion concert. I suppose it's too much to hope they'd ever tour again, but at least I got to see clips of this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8v_Rqi4B-E Laurie |

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I didn“t like being abroad and without my parents again, but hopefully next year it will be different. We will try to enjoy
New Year and go out somewhere. Iam now working at an English Kindergarten so its nice to hear more english throughout the day. I too think youtube is great as
i can still watch skating. Best wishes everyone! Klara

I almost didn't make it to work today, LOL....we're having a fierce rain and wind storm here, and I saw several downed trees and power lines on my way
to work, but just before I had to slow down at an intersection, I realized a power pole next to the road had broken and there were power lines hanging down
over the road and I was about to hit them. I slammed on my brakes, but still hit the lines. Luckily, I have a low-slung sporty car and so the lines just slid
across the top of the roof. It looks like I didn't pull them out or upset the line. Whew!

WOW!!! Laurie!!! Glad you're okay. Nothing like a harrowing drive to work to cure the winter doldrums, LOL. If that had been me, coffee would have been the
least of my worries--I would have needed a change of underwear, more importantly.
What is with all this crazy weather we're having in the US this season? There's been everything from snow flurries in Daytona Beach to mid-twenties temperatures in New Orleans to nearly zero degress in part of Tennessee to bone-numbing wind chill in Ohio brought on by 30 mile per hour winds and temperatures in the upper teens. This is insane and makes me a bit worried about what Spring will bring with the tornado season. Mary c. |

Well, I'm in no rush to get home, LOL. I understand my whole neighborhood has been out of power all day - must have lost power just after I left for work.
We could be out all weekend - wouldn't be a surprise since the storms are supposed to continue so they won't have much chance to repair. And the
generator needs replacing....(sigh) Guess I better stock up on candles, LOL...

The power's back on, LOL - yay - not internetless anymore, LOL. Got the generator working last night, but the phone lines and broadband were still down -
so my computer could be hooked up to power - but without net access it was pretty pointless. (whine) So I very sullenly went to bed at 8:30 p.m. since there
was "nothing else to do." Got a good night's sleep, though!

Well, I'm heading back for what is hopefully my last time as a prospective juror on this out of the area trial. The judges and attorneys wanted to meet
with each prospective juror individually, and tomorrow is my scheduled date with them. I expect they will decide they don't want me after that. I have a
strong opinion on this case already.

Well, I'm not going back for jury duty. The court clerk called me at the last minute today and said I was excused. I'm not surprised. I was 100% sure
they wouldn't want me, given my strong feelings on the matter, which I laid out in the questionnaire.
Now that I'm no longer on the case, here is a link about the trial I was called in for. As you can see, this case has been a long time in the making. And you can see why no one would ever want to be on the jury. Poor kids. http://www.heart7.net/news/iowa-couple-aided-ritual-childabuse.htm And this couple are also defendants in the case (the trial involves counts against both parties - the Harrods and the La Brecques) although it looks like the Harrods have already been convicted in a different trial - I guess there must be other criminal charges pending: http://www.rickross.com/reference/general/general623.html Laurie |

All I can say is...ewwwwww! There is no way I would want to be a panelist on a jury trying a case like this one. Absolutely not. These folks are sick, sick,
sick. It doesn't take a member of Mensa to figure out that one. From the sounds of it that could be one, long, very involved trial--the kind that goes one
for weeks, not days. It was a stroke of luck in your favor, Laurie, to get excused from this one, lol.

I don't think there was much luck involved. I think it was clear from my answers to the judge's and attorneys' questions that I thought the
defendants should be hanging from the nearest tree, and I would have no problem taking the FBI's word for it that these were bad people... Trial? I'd
save them the trouble!
