Every time I drive through Lausanne nowadays, I stop at Ouchy for a coffee..... Well, unless it's 2 am and everything is closed (yes, it has happened, recently.... )

I have mixed feelings about the 2002 Euros as well. I did think, at the time, that Abt was fabulous, and should have won, but I realized that I was wrong. I can't help to feel sorry for him - he totally deserved a few european...

I thought Sasha skated beautifully - one of his best performances, no doubt, and how could you not cheer for the guy? Do you mean Daisuke Takahashi? Because he skates for Japan. The only competition Patrick has in Canada is...well, no one, really. With Jeff Buttle retired, Patrick is pretty much on his own to represent Canadian men's singles hopes. There are other good skaters - Vaughn Chiper, Shawn Sawyer, just to name a few, but, really, I don't think they are going to challenge for gold.

All this media hype is just...nuts, LOL. How in the world can the Canadian Media slather all this praise on Chan who hasn't quite proven that he's all he says he is? LOL I think you're right, Laurie, that the Media is setting Chan up for a huge fall from grace when he fails to produce gold-medal winning performances at the Olympics. No doubt Patrick Chan will "wecome the opportunity" to go up against Plushchenko, if for no other reason than to show Evgeni that he is an "old geezer." LOL I truly hope Plush steps up to the plate to teach this young smart aleck a thing or two. Chan needs a good dose of humility from one of the old masters and, since, Alexei can't do it---Plush is the obvious choice, LOL.

I think it's about time one of the "old geezers" showed the new young pups that to be considered a great champion also means pushing the envelope technically in terms of difficult jumps. With Plush back in the mix, there can be no slacking off from anyone, LOL. Because to beat him, they'll have to have a quad. But, as you say, Patrick, what you guys are doing today is so much haaaarrrrrder...
