I received my Worlds all event package tickets in the mail today. I'm ready to go! I'm sitting at one of the ends, fourth row. That's plenty good enough - I really wasn't keen to spend the extra $$$ for first row.

I already got my week off. And every person who had to okay it asked me if I was sure I meant March 2009 - even the hotel called me up to make sure I knew what I was doing, LOL.

I'll have to check the dates with work. Our new boss is incredibly tight with the schedule. I'll just hope there's no heavy snow next winter.

Hi, Jenny!

My recommendation to anyone going is to pay for the cheapest tickets and either move down when all the fancy folks who pay but don't bother to show up don't show up, or not care where you are sitting for the comp, but make sure you get to all the practices early enough to sit where you want - that's almost worth the price alone. I'll be spending a lot more time watching practices than watching the competition, LOL.

But those prices are insane! I know it was five years ago but the Washington worlds in 03 weren't even half that price!

By the way, for those who plan to attend, I'd get cracking on your hotel plans. There are seven official hotels clustered within a mile of the venue, but there are also smaller, independent hotels (not chains) which are less expensive than the official ones, and are also within walking distance of the venue.

I bought my ticket over the phone, but you can also do it on the internet. They give you the seat locations and then you can choose among them or start over:

The Worlds website is now up and running.

I'm starting to think about going, LOL. It's so ridiculously expensive, but, on the other hand, it's Worlds in the U.S. And in California, even - how can I not go, LOL? But I'm seriously considering getting the least expensive tickets. I can't believe that they won't have a hard time selling the more expensive seats and so there will be lots of empty places. Bad for TV, but good for the spectator...
